Airborne is a 48 hour, affordable "challenge camp", designed to get the attention of good kids (ages 11 to 17) who are beginning to go down the wrong path. Airborne offers a 3-day challenge experience designed to draw a clear distinction between productive and non-productive thinking patterns, between effective and ineffective problem-solving strategies, between constructive and destructive attitudes, between relationships that enhance growth and relationships that impede growth, and between persevering effort and the “try once and quit” approach.
While a person can feel better after a good talk with a friend or relative, the relief is only temporary. Talking with a trained listener helps alleviate and solve the reasons for emotional distress. Families Forward Counselors offer you an opportunity to face your difficulties constructively and confidently; freeing you to enjoy all the good things life has to offer. Welcome to the Families Forward Homepage! Our motto is, “Family on a Mission, a Mission to the Family.” We are very happy for your visit. If you have stopped by because you are looking for information, strategies and/or support to move your family forward, you have come to the right place. Families are very important to us and well worth all of our efforts to support them.
As you visit the various links located on this website, you’ll notice a couple things. First you’ll notice we provide no easy answers, no formulas, no “quick fix-it” schemes, and no “hurry up” solutions. The reason we did not provide these “quick-solutions” is because moving families forward takes hard focused work over time. The focus of the work we do together includes gaining a deeper understanding of who you are and how you think, developing a deeper understanding of relationships and the temperaments associated with those relationships and finally, how to more effectively solve problems. We work toward lasting changing, not temporary solutions.
Another thing you might notice is the opportunities Families Forward offers requires you to be present, yes you have to actively involve yourself, your spouse, and your children in the process. Families Forward is not virtual family growth and development it’s actual growth and development. Like the game host says, “you have to be present to win.’
Finally, like our motto says, “Family on a mission, mission to families.” Well, WE are the “family on a mission.” My wife and I and our five adult children and their spouses make up the core Families Forward staff. Families Forward is a family organization whose work with families began 30 years ago and has developed over time. We would love to share our story with you and assist you at developing your own Families Forward story.
